Hello all,
just a brief note about the money raised from the sponsored walk.
Currently the total is £3,100, a fantastic effort from all concerned.
The committee have tried on a couple of occasions to gather everyone for the presentation of their respective cheques, unfortunatly, due to other commitments, some have not been able to attend.
Once we have passed the money on to both worthy causes we will update this message and post a photo on this website.

Having just seen the DVD I would like to congratulate Darren Campbell on doing a superb job.

Great Reunion nights, fun to see the photos now appearing on the website!
Thank you to Tweedy and Tommy for organising the Lionel do, a good icebreaker! Just a pity the 3 "boys" from our Airidhantuim class could n't make it (maybe next year)but good to catch up with the "girls" and the Lionel crew.
Thank you to Eddie and the committee for getting so many of us together in the Legion. Friday night was not to be missed, great meal, good craic and even some of us managed a wee dance!

Although I was unable to be there, it has been fantastic going through the photos from the reunion and trying to figure out who was who. It's amazing how some people have hardly changed, and how long hair has been replaced with no hair. Would love to see more photos. So come on all you budding Angus Smiths, get your portfolios on the website.

A week later and I'm still thinking about our reunion! Thank you to everyone on the committee for bringing us all together for a memorable weekend. Any apprehension was quickly dispelled by the warm welcome at the door and all the smiling faces upstairs. Fancy doing it again ?

So sorry to have missed the party - I'd been hoping to make it but it was not to be. That the old sense of community and spirit has endured over all the years is nothing short of remarkable! Congratulations to the team on such an amazing achievement. Slainte! David Kirkness, Johanesburg.

I can't remember the last time I had a better weekend. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many old faces and meet some that I had forgotten about. The sponsored walk was hugely enjoyable as was the after event party at Murdo Frasers house (thanks for the invite Murdo). I would like to pass on my thanks to the committee who did such a thoroughly professional job of organising all the activities. Wish I could do it all over again this weekend, but I fear my old body couldn't take the punishment.

Due to a family bereavement
It was with much regret that I was unable to attend the reunion. That is the way things turn out sometime and sadly, it was not meant to be for me. However, it is good to see some pictures of the evening and some familiar faces of the past.

Thanks to those of you that I had the pleasure of meeting some days after the reunion and gave me an insight of a unique event, also very well done to all who were involved in making it all possible.

I've been reading a lot of the comments and there is not a lot to add. It was well worth the drive from Wales.I should have got a few more contact details but I was having such an enjoyable evening the opportunity was missed. I was sorry to have missed the second night but I look forward to the next event.

What a brilliant event that turned out to be. Like Bom so aptly put it, I spent too long talking and apologise to those I didnt catch up with. Congratulations and many thanks to the team who made it all possible. You deserve a medal you lot. All the best.

An apprehensive drive and flight north from York was followed by one of the most enjoyable evenings we have ever had. The company and the conversation was just so effortless and we were reminded that our Lewis roots run so very deep. Thanks to all the organisers but most of all thanks to you all, our oldest friends

I must give Eddie and all the committee a big thank you for organising such a fantastic weekend. I had a great time meeting up with old school friends.Havent laughed or talked so much in years.Well done and hope we will be able to be together again for the next one. The crack was fantastic!

It broke my heart to leave the island on Sunday. I have never experienced such a sense of belonging and the genuine loving friendship of all my old school friends. The years just melted away! I have never laughed so much in my life and I find myself walking around all day with a stupid grin on my face.
I just can't find the words to express how thankful I am to have been there. Many, many thanks to all the organisers. Also wanted to say that the food was amazing! Just wish I could have eaten more!

What a great weekend meeting all school freinds. I dont know when i laughed so much. Thanks to the committe for orginising a fabulous weekend their attention to detail was second to none. To all my Laxdale friends i hope we keep in touch with each other. Here is to our next meeting.

We have an advantage, (perhaps!) in both having been at the best reunion Lewis has ever seen! We can't stop talking about it(boring the kids!) and feeling that it was over too soon. Well done to the committee, what a weekend, it was brilliant to see so many people, many not seen since we left school. Hilarious to see all the spectacles coming out to peer at the name-badges, and then disappearing for photos! What a shame for those who missed it, hope they come for the next one. We may need a bigger venue for all the Zimmers and a loop system for the hearing-aids. Let's keep in touch.God bless you all.

I would like to say what everyone else has said.... so I wont!Does anybody get the feeling that the weekend was far too short(and I never even made it too the 'Niseach'event!)Absolutely brilliant and can I apologise to all those people that I didnt get round to talking to -it seems I spent too much time'TALKING'! Would the organisers be interested in doing my birthday party???????

Thanks to the Committe for all their hard work and the best night I have had for ages. I was so at home and comfortable with everyone and felt I was back in school. Thanks to Tina for the wonderful welcome at the Door! Thanks to my wonderful Laxdale friends - and especially Donnie Smith - none of you have changed - please stay the same! To my Nicolson friends - you were all just the same as when in school - you all looked fab! Kind regards and hope we can do it all again soon.

Many thanks to Eddie and his Committee for such a fantastic Reunion and full marks to all on your organisational skills. It was great to catch up with everyone again, especially those who were in the Stornoway Primary with me. A great weekend never to be forgotten, roll on the next one.

I feel so privileged to be part of a fantastic crowd and shall treasure the memories of this weekend for the rest of my days. I look forward to the next reunion and seeing you all again.

I came North on Friday with a certain amount of trepidation-- 30 years since I left Lewis, a lot has happened in our lives. Would I remember people? Would they remember me? Would we have anything to talk about? Which all goes to show I still have capacity for being daft. I talked myself hoarse, danced like an eedjit,shed tears, laughed till my sides were sore and had the most fantastic time.I add my thanks to everyones,and I won't leave it another 30 years. ( I'm sure I won't be able to dance quite so well at 80)

What an experience.What a privilege to meet up with friends I remembered and friends I didn't remember I had been blessed with.It was so great to meet with everyone and share in the experience.The comittee deserve all our grateful thanks for working so hard to realise the inspired idea of getting everyone together.i will remember this for as long as I draw breath.Best wishes to you all.

Thank you, doesn't seem to be enough to say for all the hard work the committee did in producing a truly memorable event. I feel so lucky to have been able to attend and shall treasure the memories always. So nice to catch up with many old friends and sad not to share it with those we have lost. I hope to hang on in there for the next one and do it all over again guys.

What a great evening on Friday in the Legion. Tremendous organisation from Eddie, Sage, Todac and co, and just the most wonderful spirit. Thank you all, a very special night.

Well done! . As Friday gives way to Saturday I decide to take my thoughts on a post-event stroll through the Stornoway small hours.

Leaving the Legion I realise how much I treasure the great and wonderful people that populate my schoolday memories and I give thanks.

Leaving Stornoway, on the afternoon ferry, I realise (on spotting fellow Niseach Annie M) that she slept in and missed the morning sailing! Cha tig an aois leatha fhein!

Thanks to all the organisers for a GREAT night,great food(drink),great crack and the tribute to those who are no longer with us brought a tear to the eye, they would have been proud of you all.
Can't make the walk today think I pulled something last night dancing with Todach but am sure I'll be okay by tonight and I'll put a donation to the funds

A special thanks to all in the committee for their fantastic organisation with this major event - now you really do need that drink!

Hi to all those involved in organising Heb50, especially Eddie, for keeping me up to date with events. I have been hanging on to the hope of being able to attend the reunion in May, but as the time draws closer it is looking unlikely that I will be able to get there.

As I have been in New Zealand for almost 20 years, it would have been bloody fantastic to have had the chance to catch up with some folk I haven't seen since my teens. Although I have had several trips back to Sy, including 07 and 08, I have only been able to catch up with a small number of old school mates.

However if you can send me some bank details (for internet banking) I will send the money for my registration, and if I don't get there you can put it towards the sponsored walk funds.

I expect everyone will have a great time and look forward to hearing all about it and hopefully seeing some photos. I will be thinking of you all and tell Todach I will be having a quiet drink for Donald, and all those who are no longer with us.

Eddie Mould has been in contact with me over the last couple of months and unfortunatly myself and Vivian cannot be in SY for the party - we were in Sy 2 years ago and met a couple of the "old team " todag at the Uig day out( still in charge of everyone) and Murdo Fraser ( Captain or commander) at the Heb festival in the Castle grounds - it was great to meet all again and no one changes!!!!!

We have been in Australia for 19 years and our 3 daughters are 27 and the twins 24 all working and studying - cannot work out where they get their brains from !
anyway guys enjoy all the catch up and all the goss - congratulations to everyone involved in organising the event - have a safe time and best wishes to all attending and in memory for all who have passed on
